Assignment description and purpose:
The main goal of this assignment was to design an instructional module aligned with the learning strategies included in this course. A part of this deign we developed an instructor guide that support in delivering the module effectively. The assignment required key instructional design principles by defining the objectives, teaching methods, assessment, and e-learning tools that support learning. Through this process, I learned how to design structured learning experience that promote learner engagement and aligned with the learning outcomes.
Skills gained as an instructional designer:
This assignment strengthened my instructional skills. I learned how to design a curriculum, choose appropriate objectives that progress across levels and incorporate multimedia tools that enhance students’ attention span and critical thinking. Through this whole process I ensured coherence in learning using constructivist principles and project-based assessment approaches.
The main strength of this assignment:
One of the strongest aspects of this assignment was the clear structure and alignment between learning objectives, content, strategies, and assessments, which were designed in an interactive way to support learners’ progression. Another strength was the use of technology rather than traditional teaching, which made the module meaningful and interactive.
Recommendations for Enhancing the Assignment:
However, if I were to revise the module, I would add more practical tips for teachers. What works for some students may not work for others. So, enriching this guide with many tips, examples, and practical suggestions of teachers would make it more applicable in real classroom settings. This assignment is aligned to the course EDUC331- Advanced Instructional Methodology which required a deep understanding of learning strategies and theories and aligning them with objectives, content and assessments.
